Sisyphus -- Episode 11& 12: The Power of Choice

Everybody has something they either want or rather not have Han Tae Sul do. And each is only looking out for their own wants, the rest of the world be damned. That Tae Sul has to put his trust in the very same people who are causing all the chaos to ave Seo Hae speaks to how much he cares for, and I completely understand his choices; I hope he's ready for the consequences. They say the greatest power a person possesses is the power to choose, but at the same time, they have to live with the consequences of that choice.

I'm not sure if it was just me, but the exchange between Sigma and Tae Sul felt a bit weird like something was off, or maybe I expected more. That said, I wasn't shocked to know Park and Seo Jin knew more than they shared all along. Nor was I surprised to see the Control Bureau in bed with Sigma or that Sigma and Tae Sul knew each other as children, or that Sun is ready to betray Tae Sul for his wants. It's a dog-eat-dog kind of world, as they say. But I am very curious to know how everybody fits together, from Park to Seo Jin, to Sigma, the Control Bureau, and even Eddy Kim.

Although everybody keeps saying nothing can change the future or the past, Seo Hae seems to be the only one that believes it can and that she, in particular, can; change the future. I wonder if it's because she's in a time loop, and despite not having memories of her past travels, she has her diary, which prepares for what to expect the next time. And that gives her the knowledge that she can change the future as long as she keeps trying.

I liked Tae Sul's walkthrough of his past to his present in his attempt to save Seo Hae. It showcased the consequences of his choices and that he has the power of choice even when he believes he may not because even love is a choice, be it a brother's love or otherwise. I'm glad Han Tae Sul got his final moments with Tae Sun, and what an emotional moment it was, my favorite of the whole episode. I get the sense the final moment with Tae Sun and his moments with Seo Hae is the difference in the choices Han Tae Sul makes from here onwards. Watch Episode 11 & 12 here.
