Emotions run high this episode, everything from love, fear, apprehension to rage, resentment, and even regret. They say the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart, and that is so true. One has to be blind not to sense the currents of emotion flowing between Zi 0, Gu Reum, Choi Yoo Na, and Lee Son, and the saddest part is the ones that care the most end up bearing the brunt of it -- Zi 0 and Yoo Na.
That said, though, much more of those injections is Lee Son going to withstand at this rate. He is bound to explode. The same goes for Gu Reum; I mean, the number of beatings she's taken so far, she should be dead. I will not at all be surprised to find out she is not entirely human herself. I mean, the parents she had, it seems logical they would enhance their own daughter's abilities.
Even monsters or those perceived to be monsters feel. I think that is what I appreciate most about LUCA: its consistency in presenting Zi 0's human-side and, more so, his ability to know love despite not having experienced it. But as they say, to know true love, one must know heartbreak even if they never realize it's love and that Zi 0 has known heartbreak is indisputable.
It was only a matter of time before the monster-like Kim Cheol So, the mad scientist and the crazed cult leader started getting suspicious of each other, that they will turn on each is quite evident -- there is no honor among thieves; there are only suspicions. They're all as sleazy as sleaze gets. Everything and everyone is a game to them. I cannot wait for Kim Cheol Soo and the crazed cult leader's reaction when they find out the mad scientist has played them this whole time. I live for that moment.
I knew the captain wasn't right, I knew he wasn't trustworthy, but I still hoped against hope I was wrong. I so wanted to be wrong. The worst feeling in the world is finding out you've been used and lied to by someone you trusted as they say, sometimes the person you'd take a bullet for is standing behind the trigger, literally. I felt Gu Reum's disbelief, pain, disappointment all in one.
